Mission Fundraisers

Annual FUMC Garage Sale — 1st Saturday in MAY
Each year, church members are encouraged to donate any and all items from knick knacks to kitchen ware to furniture to clothing to odds and ends (etc., etc.) for this annual event. Arrangements can be made for pick up of donations or individuals can bring to the church during the week leading up to the FUMC Garage Sale event. Also, volunteers are always needed to prepare for and manage the event. Proceeds from this event help fund the annual Missions Trip and other initiatives.  If you have questions or are interested in donating items or volunteering for the event, please contact Judy Freeman.

FUMC Church Beef and Chicken BBQ
Several members of the Missions Committee get together and grill barbecue beef and chicken on the “Holy Smoker” at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Texas. The food is always delicious and the Missions BBQ kings really enjoy demonstrating their considerable grilling skills during this annual fund raiser.  The “Holy Smoker” is fired up for the annual garage sale supporting mission trips.

Community Fundraisers Supported by FUMC

Pregnancy Care Center “Baby Bottle Boomerang”
Each year FUMC participates in the local Pregnancy Care Center’s “Baby Bottle Boomerang” fund raiser. The PCC provides empty baby bottles and the church places them in the foyer outside the church coffee lobby. Church members are encouraged to pick up and fill the baby bottles with cash donations (or checks!). Proceeds are donated directly to the Pregnancy Care Center in Huntsville, Texas.  Thanks to everyone who contributed during our May – June fund raiser.
Senior Center Fund Raiser
Each year a fund raiser event takes place at the Walker County Fairgrounds in Huntsville, Texas. FUMC participates in this event by purchasing tickets for at least one table and donating items for the event, as well as assisting with cooking and serving the dinner. This is a fun-filled event for one and all, and proceeds are donated to the Senior Center of Walker County. Please contact Rev. Ellen Willett if you have questions or would like to participate.
